The Ghent Barge – Stien De Vrieze

Stien De Vrieze creates a moving projection with white horses and other images that refer to the historical past of the vessel ‘The Barge of Ghent[. The images are projected onto a water fountain and the projection is accompanied by ethereal music of Inne Eysermans van Amatorski.
History excites the imagination and raises exciting scenes. All existing lighting on the Barge are turned off to create a mysterious, fairy-like atmosphere with the blue lights from the windows in the fuselage and the orange lights on the deck to their full advantage.

The Gravensteen, the most original building of the city of Ghent, cannot remain in the dark during the festival of lights. But what light artist could create better light art than the residents of Ghent themselves? For the first time in almost 1000 years history, the people of Ghent themselves are the designers.
The unique medieval castle located in the center of town will get new facades during the light festival. No real new facades, but through lighting techniques that are projected onto the actual walls of the Gravensteen. A metamorphosis, a dream, funny or artistic, a look back at the past or a glimpse into the future ...
New facades that every citizen of Ghent can think of. The city of Ghent will select the best designs and makes its own light sculpture for the Gravensteen. The rules for the contest can be found in the Stadswinkel or www.gent.be/gent3D.
